GREEN WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE - 2010

The SATURDAY collection dates for BENINGTON, BUTTERWICK and FREISTON are below:

    9th and 23rd October

Due to lack of funding this year Boston Borough Council have had to reduce the number of pick up sites in all areas and because of this, we will only be able to pick up from the advertised sites only and not from individual properties.

ARE YOU A RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER?

Concern has been expressed regarding Dog Fouling in our villages.  It is the responsibility of all Dog Owners or the person in charge of the dog to clean up immediately after the dog has fouled. 

Boston Borough Council made an Order under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996; this order came into force on 8th December 1997.  Examples of areas covered by the order include roads with a speed limit of 40 mph and less, their pavements and adjacent land; recreational areas and sports facilities; parks, footpaths, play areas; car parks and grass verges.

The Neighbourhood Wardens can issue a fixed penalty notice of £50 to a person who they witness failing to remove their dog waste.

PLEASE REMEMBER - Always carry enough bags with you when you walk your dog.  Whenever available a designated dog waste bin should be used and if bagged and sealed dog waste may also be placed in ordinary litter bins.
