Your questions answered
Could you please let me know who is responsible for cutting the public footpath and hedges that go from Hawthorn Road to North Greetwell, the thorns from the hedges are now dangerous to people and animals. Also could you have someone come and look at grassed area outside my property as the people walking dogs are letting them use it as a toilet.
- The person responsible for the footpath from Hawthorn Road, Reepham to North Greetwell is the land owner. As they do not seem to be prepared to do anything I suggest you contact the Footpaths Officer at Lincolnshire County Council. Their general number is 552833. If not the County Council reception is 552222. Failing that you could contact Reepham Parish Council as well for support as it is in their parish. The Clerk is Ann McCullagh on 751392. I also happen to know that Greetwell Parish Council has also been in touch with the County Council about this matter.
Dog dirt on the verges is a West Lindsey District Council matter and they can be contacted on 01427 676676.
The Parish Council put items in the CW News asking people not to allow their dogs to foul areas but unfortunately unless you have very good witness proof it is very difficult for the District Council to get any type of prosecution.
