Picnic 2017

Thanks to all you attended and helped to make this a very successful day. The glorious weather helped and the day was enjoyed by all, so much so that we have been asked to repeat it again next year. We will be working with the Oasis to explore the idea of an annual event so watch this space.

Saturday 2nd September, 1.00pm - 3.00pm

The Parish Council organised a Community Picnic Event to celebrate all the work that has taken place on Cherry Fields in the last year.

There were various activities going on at the picnic including:

  • musical entertainment from the Lincoln Ukulele Band
  • fairground organ music
  • craft activities for children (there may be a small charge on some activities to cover materials)
  • den building
  • see the Growing Plot and buy its produce
  • bike time trials on our new bike track (with prizes for each age group).  Youngsters tried out their MTB or BMX on our new bike track and tested themselves against the clock!   Cherry Fields lies to the south of Fiskerton Road opposite its junction with Laburnum Drive, and the land was purchased in 2016 by the parish council to be developed into a community amenity including:  creating the beginnings of Cherry’s first woodland; constructing an access path down to the fields and beyond them down to the Delph; building a bike path for children to play on; and establishing a woodland walk.
