Sunday 28th September was LLA day at the BBMF. Every year, as the last event on their flying calendar, the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight puts on a private air show at their RAF Coningsby base for Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association and their guests to say thank you for the support given to the flight by the Association during the year. This year, as a one-off, the LLA has also given a sizeable donation to the Canadian Warplane Heritage towards the cost of the new engine for Lancaster “Vera”.

Opix3907.jpg      It has become traditional that the final act of the LLA Day display is a formation flypast by all the available airworthy aircraft of the BBMF. This year the Dakota led the formation followed by two Spitfires, two Hurricanes and the Lancaster. Photo by Oscarpix Imaging.
