Freiston Senior Citizens

Freiston Senior Citizens was founded as a club in 1951, but was first known as Freiston Old Folks Club.

In the first 50 years of its existence there were only two chairman first Bert Millard who continued until 1975 and then by Grace Dawson who retired in 2001.

It is unclear when it was renamed Freiston Senior Citizens but it is still a successful club up to this present day with around 70 members.  The Chairman is now Beryl Reeson and along with her committee organise two coach outings every year, tea and entertainment every May in the Danny Flear Community Centre and a Christmas Lunch at a local restaurant.

Fund raising events take place throughout the year, two Car Boot sales and a Harvest Sale and Raffle every September.

The membership fee is £13.

At the Annual General Meeting in August 2008 the age limit was lowered to ladies of 60 years of age who received their OAP in their own right.
