Welcome to Greatford
Welcome to the Greatford Parish and Parish Council website. This site aims to provide residents of Greatford and others interested with information about the village and the Parish Council’s activities.
Greatford is a small village of about 100 houses plus a few other dwellings elsewhere within the parish boundaries, located roughly equidistant between Market Deeping, Stamford and Bourne.
Diamond Jubilee weekend: Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – Sunday 3 June 2:30 to 5pm. A chance to mark this historic occasion and get together with family, friends and neighbours on the village hall playing fields for a Royal “Big Lunch”; please bring a picnic. There will be a limited number of tables and chairs available. There’ll be plenty to entertain everyone on the day but the highlight has to be the Great Greatford Bake Off. It’s your opportunity to wow the rest of the village and the judges with your baking skills. To enter just bring along your cakes and bakes before 3.30pm on the day. Sweet or savoury – as long as it can be eaten cold - it can be entered into the hotly-contested competition. Judging begins at 4pm and will culminate in true village style by eating of the entries – so hopefully there won’t be much to carry home afterwards. For further information please call Heather Hooper on 01778 560768.
Annual Parish Meeting: The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on Tuesday 22nd May at 7pm in the Village Hall. This is the opportunity for all villagers to discuss issues affecting the village, and all residents of the village are welcome to attend. There will be reports from our County Councillor and District Councillor, the Parish Council and the Village Hall Committee, together with an open forum at which any issues may be raised.
