Welcome to the Heckington Parish Council website.
Heckington is situated in the area of the south of Lincolnshire on the east coast of England and close to the Wash in the North Sea. The Parish supports a population of some 3,500 with most residents living in the Village and with a few hundred in the surrounding rural area.
The Parish area of 5,300 acres consists mainly of flat agricultural land (although the Village of Heckington is on slightly higher ground) and enjoys a very peaceful rural landscape.
The nearest larger urban settlements include Lincoln (twenty miles), Boston (ten miles) and Sleaford (six miles).
Heckington Parish Council Responsibilities.
The responsibilities of the Parish Council, in common with all other Parish Councils in the country, include:-
- Footway lighting;
- Village greens;
- Public seats;
- Indoor and outdoor recreational facilities;
- Playing fields, Parks and open spaces;
- Litter control;
- War memorial.
Heckington Parish Council currently has a vacancy for the part time role of Admin Assistant
(6 hours per week, plus extra as required)
General Office duties to include answering telephone enquiries, face to face enquiries, document filing, computer work.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is desirable. Must be a team player, polite, well presented and with a professional manner. Experience of office work would be an advantage. Flexibility of working hours is essential in order to cover for holidays and sickness.
