CALLCONNECT – BUS SERVICE CallConnect is a unique bus service whose timetable is not fixed but responds to passenger requests.  Journey requests can be made by telephone, online or by SMS text message – request your journey up to seven days in advance.    The service is designed to improve transport opportunities in rural communities and some market towns where there is an infrequent conventional bus services.  All are welcome to use the service regardless of age or status. You can use the service as frequently as required for anything from shopping or travelling to work or school to a social event or medical appointment. Even if you are on holiday in Lincolnshire and need a bus. LIBRARY CONSULTATION – HAVE YOUR SAY ON FUTURE LIBRARY SERVICES

The library service needs to change if it is to remain affordable and be better tailored to local needs.  People are now being asked for their views on the best way forward.

People can have their say on the proposals by filling in the online questionnaire at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/librariesconsultation or by picking up a copy of the questionnaire in your local library.

The consultation runs until Monday 30 September 2013.

The next two Full Council meetings will be on Monday’s 16th September and 21st October 2013.  Parishioners are welcome to attend all Council and committee meetings.

PARISH COUNCIL FINANCES:  As at 19 August 2013. General Account £72,449.46 and Burial Account £5,447.12. (General Reserve - New Village Hall towards match funding £10,000 and PWLB Loan Repayments £18,400.00), Expenditure for August is £4,889.18

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL (ELDC)

COMMUNITY INITIATIVE GRANT SCHEME (CCIS) East Lindsey DistrictCouncil recognises the important role that an active community and voluntary sector plays in helping to improve the well-being of the districts residents.  Through the CCIS grant scheme each one of the 60 Ward Councillors receives a £2,000 allowance that they may award as grants to local groups and organisations delivering community projects that benefit the residents of their electoral ward.  Any organisation that would like to put in a bid please contact Councillor Terry Aldridge via email on terryaldridge@btinternet.com.

BULKY ITEMS OF WASTE

If you need to dispose of bulky items of household waste, i.e. refrigerators, freezers, cookers, beds, etc., please contact East Lindsey District Council on 01507 601111 to arrange collection.  The fee is £15.00 for up to 4 items.
