LINCOLNSHIREBEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION

The Parish will be entering the competition again this year, judging June, July and August.  It would be fantastic for the village to do one better this year and become winners!  With a little hard work and community spirit it could be achieved.

HOLTON LE CLAY FESTIVAL DAY – SATURDAY 10TH JULY 2010

Volunteers are required to support this event.  If you can spare a couple of hours on the day please contact the Parish Clerk on 01472 825467.

HOLTON LE CLAY YOUTH – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The meeting on Wednesday 24th February 2010 was very successful – however more volunteers are still required.  The first step is that an arrangement is being made to transport volunteers to Youth clubs for a visit in the Louth area, have the CRB check and then initially start volunteering as part of the HLC Youth Group on a Friday evening.

FILM NIGHT – A film night is being organised and scheduled to be held in the Junior School hall.  Please check the Notice Boards for more details.

LITTER PICKER

Cyril will continue emptying the bins around the village and help out with some litter picking.  All parishioners are requested to ensure that rubbish is placed in the bins provided and those with children to bring this to their attention too.

LOUTH ROADDYKES AROUND CLAY LANE AREA

After an inspection from East Lindsey District Council of the Dykes on Louth Road it was apparent that illegal dumping had taken place that has contributed to the flooding in the area.

Flooding caused by dumping not only is dangerous and damaging to persons property but an offence that carries heavy fines, apart from making the village an eyesore it is totally unnecessary to dump grass box cuttings and other materials in these water ways.

TURNING ROUNDABOUTS

Residents are requested not to park at the end of the turning roundabouts in particular on Collection Day.  The refuge vehicle is unable to drive around the roundabout consequently has to mount the roundabout causing damage.

NEW TREE PLANTING – TETNEY LANE ON BEND NEAR BENCH

6 new trees have been planted on the green area at the bend and one tree on the opposite side.  It is hoped that the planting of these new trees will prevent illegally parking occurring and will also enhance this area for the future.  The grass cutting contractor has been informed to be extra careful in this area.

HORSES – HORSE RIDING IS NOT PERMITTED AT THE 8 ACRES PLAYING FIELDS

DOGS FOULING

We ask all dog holders to be responsible and clean up after their pets.  This includes 8 Acres playing fields, all pavements and walkways including the old railway line.  If anyone witnesses dog fouling they are to report it to the ELDC on 01507 601111 and ask for Dog Warden or text DOG to 07781481328.                                                                                                                    Reminder – if you do not clean up after your dog, you could incur a £75.00 on the spot fine with a maximum penalty of £1000.00.

DOGS – NO DOGS ALLOWED IN JUNIOR PLAYING FIELDS

A reminder that dogs are not allowed in the Junior Playing Fields – this is the small green area where the children’s playground equipment is in between Garthway and Louth Road.

GRASS VERGES

We would ask all car owners/drivers to kindly not park on the grass verges but to use their driveways whenever possible or on the road.  Parking on grass verges not only ruins the grass but makes it very difficult for the grass cutters.
