HOLTON-LE-CLAY PARISH COUNCIL DECEMBER 2010/JANUARY 2011

Website:  http://parishes.lincolnshire.gov.uk/HoltonleClay   HLC.PC@btconnect.com

GRITTING LATEST FROM LCC– Residents are being asked to stay vigilant for dangerous pavements – and even icy main roads – as gritting attentions are focussed on primary routes in temperatures where even salt isn’t completely effective.  What’s more, thefts from salt bins are jeopardising attempts to tackle pathways.  The county council’s gritting teams continue to repeatedly salt and plough over 3000km of priority roads, plus further secondary routes.  With all efforts dedicated to the roads, the authority is encouraging residents to help out by tackling conditions on their own roads, with footways in particular need.

LINCOLNSHIRE – NHS 111 – is a new telephone service being introduced to help make it easier for you to access local health services, if you need help fast, but it isn’t a 999 emergency. A leaflet is held in the Council Offices.

Due to Government budget spending there has been an overhaul to the street scene services at the District Council.  There will be 6 areas with a team of 6 contractors.  Further details to follow.  Cyril will continue emptying the bins around the village and help out with some litter picking until the new services start.

BYELAWS - HORSE RIDING IS NOT PERMITTED AT THE 8 ACRES PLAYING FIELDS.

A new Lincolnshire fencing has been erected at the Beech Grove service entrance.

DOGS FOULING – A NOTED INCREASE SINCE BAD WEATHER

We ask all dog holders to be responsible and clean up after their pets. There is no excuse not to pick up dog mess due to snowy conditions.  This includes all areas of the village in particular the pavements, walkways and the old railway line.  If anyone witnesses dog fouling they are to report it to the ELDC on 01507 601111 and ask for Dog Warden or text DOG to 07781481328.                                                                         Reminder – if you do not clean up after your dog, you could incur a £75.00 on the spot fine with a maximum penalty of £1000.00.

DOGS – NO DOGS ALLOWED IN JUNIOR PLAYING FIELDS

A reminder that dogs are not allowed in the Junior Playing Fields – this is the small green area where the children’s playground equipment is in between Garthway and Louth Road.

LOUTH ROAD DYKES AROUND CLAY LANE AREA

Please keep the dykes clear – it is apparent that illegal dumping had taken place that has contributed to the flooding in the area.

TURNING ROUNDABOUTS

Residents are requested not to park at the end of the turning roundabouts in particular on Collection Day.  The refuge vehicle is unable to drive around the roundabout consequently he has to mount the roundabout causing damage.

GRASS VERGES – SNOWY CONDITIONS

Wherever possible we urge residents not to place the snow on pavements but keep them clear for pedestrians to use.  Car owners/drivers are requested to kindly not park on the grass verges but to use their driveways whenever possible or on the road.
