ADVANCE NOTIFICATION - DISTRICT AND PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS PLUS THE REFERENDUM ON THE VOTING SYSTEM FOR UNITED KINGDOM PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS – THURSDAY 5TH MAY 2011 between 7.00 am to 10.00 pm in the Council Offices, Peppercorn Walk.    Further details on the Notice Boards and website.

ELECTION OF PARISH AND DISTRICT COUNCILLORS.  Nomination paper must be delivered to the Returning Officer at ELDC, Manby not later than NOON on Monday 4 April 2011.

LINCOLNSHIRE – NHS 111 – is a new telephone service being introduced to help make it easier for you to access local health services, if you need help fast, but it isn’t a 999 emergency. A leaflet is held in the Council Offices.

The Youth Club has an average 35 young people attend each week and is looking out for more volunteers.  Please contact the Council Offices or visit the Youth Club on a Friday night - 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Community Centre.

DIGITAL UK – SWITCHOVER – The BBC Switchover Help Scheme is here to help everyone aged 75 and over or disabled people, by providing the equipment and practical support needed to switch one TV to digital.  Contact No.  0800 40 85 900 or go to helpscheme.co.uk.

THE CONCESSIONARY BUS PASS SCHEME IS CHANGING…  

Central Government has decided that from 1st April 2011 responsibility for bus passes will transfer from the District Council to the County Council. 

The existing bus passes are valid until the expiry date on them.                                  

GRASS VERGES 

Car owners/drivers are requested to kindly not park on the grass verges but to use their driveways whenever possible or on the road. 

DOGS FOULING

We ask all dog holders to be responsible and clean up after their pets. This includes all areas of the village in particular the pavements, walkways and the former railway line.  If anyone witnesses dog fouling they are to report it to the ELDC on 01507 601111 and ask for Dog Warden or text DOG to 07781481328.                                                                                       

Reminder – if you do not clean up after your dog, you could incur a £75.00 on the spot fine with a maximum penalty of £1000.00.

DOGS – NO DOGS ALLOWED IN JUNIOR PLAYING FIELDS

A reminder that dogs are not allowed in the Junior Playing Fields – this is the small green area where the children’s playground equipment is in between Garthway and Louth Road.

OVERHANGING HEDGES/TREES – Parishioners are kindly requested to check for any overhanging hedges/trees from their properties onto the public footpaths and around street lighting.  Please trim back the hedges and cut back the trees on this last opportunity before the Spring.

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL FACILITIES DAY

The dates of the forthcoming ELDC Facilities Day are Wednesday 13th April 2011. 9.00 am-1.00 pm and 2.00 pm- 4.00 pm and Wednesday 11th May 2011.

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL WARD SURGERY

The dates of your local ELDC Councillors’ surgery at the Parish Offices are 

Wednesday 13th April 2011 10.00 am-12.00 noon

Wednesday 11th May 2011 2.00 pm-4.00 pm

WHEELIE BIN COLLECTION                                                                                                               The Green Waste bin to resume 28th March 2011 or 4th April 2011 depending in which street you live in.  Either with the Recycling bin or Domestic Waste bin.  Please check your Waste Collection card for collection in your street.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING – MONDAY 28TH MARCH 2011

In attendance representatives from LCC Highways and ELDC Street Scene to answer questions and give an update on the new Street cleaning teams.  Also Annual Council Reports/Finance and some community organisation updates.  All parishioners are welcome.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING FULL COUNCIL MEETINGS

The next two Full Council Meetings will be on Monday 18th April 2011 and 16 May 2011 (Annual Council meeting).  All planning applications can be viewed at 7.15 pm. prior to the meetings. All parishioners are welcome.
