Lea Parish Council

Welcome to the Lea Parish Council website

We hope you find the website interesting and beneficial, either as a resident of the Parish or a visitor to Lea.

Lea is a small quiet village which is situated to the south of Gainsborough town and is approximately 17 miles from Lincoln.   We are close to the River Trent and are surrounded by beautiful countryside with some lovely walks around the village.

Lea Park Developments

Lea Parish Council are so pleased that recent changes in Lea Park are now completed and are being used and enjoyed. The play equipment looks great, and we thank the Council working group who work so hard to make that happen. They consulted with residents about what equipment would be most suitable for the area, they met with representatives of a variety of companies to discuss options, they collected tenders for costs and finally appointed PlayQuest to instal the play equipment. Playquest were helped by local company ALS to complete the groundwork and JCM who ercted the new fencing. ALS were also responsible for installing the new pathway alongside the play park linking with the pathway from the new Rose Gardens estate.

The Council are aware of the large tree that has fallen onto the area that used to be the football field. Following advise from a woodland management specialist, it has been decided to leave the tree in situ to provide a natural habitat.

The group of volunteers that maintain Lea Park has recently lost a couple of members. If you could spare a couple of hours a month to help keep the park looking good and safe please let the Parish Clerk, Barry Rook, know, so your name can be added to the contact list. So many residents love the Park but it doesn't look after itself. Please, if you can help, let us know.
