Broadband - Better Provision for Legbourne - UPDATED JAN 2018

Legbourne was not included in either of the first two phases of OnLincolnshire's Broadband coverage programme. The Council contacted Lincolnshire County Council and BT to express its disappointment at the exclusion of a main village (in the context of East Lindsey DC's local plan) from the project, which will disadvantage residents and businesses of the Parish.

In the autumn of 2016 the Council became aware of a proposal to improve provision in Legbourne, but no confirmation was received from BT of dates and impacted properties.

In December 2017 an analysis of coverage in the village showed that a very low proportion of dwellings in the village had benefitted from any phase of the programme. Councillors asked the clerk to write to the Executive Councillor at Lincolnshire County Council, expressing dissatisfaction with the apparent exclusion of Legbourne from broadband upgrades and seeking assurances about future improvements.

In January 2018 Councillor Richard Davies wrote back explaining how events had unfolded and indicating that significant improvements had now been built into the OnLincolnshire programme via a contractual change control mechanism. He also offered to attend / be represented at the Annual Parish meeting in April 2018.
