Public Toilet Consultation

Public Toilet Consultation

The toilet block in the Square serving residents and visitors, is run by the Parish Council.  The cost of running the public toilets is currently just over £4K per year.  This figure includes running costs and staff wages and comes out of the Parish Council precept which is approx. £18K per year.  (The Parish Council precept is a tax charged on each property in the parish and is paid by residents as part of their Council Tax bill. The Parish Council sets the amount of precept and then uses this tax to fund activities that benefit the community, which since 2011 has included running the public toilets.

The Parish Council is consulting residents on a proposal to close the public toilets with an annual saving of £4K.  We welcome any comments, suggestions, or questions on this proposal.

Comments can be made via the Parish Clerk
