married Blanche Ellen Harsley at St. Peter's Church, Scotter on 27th June 1921
lived at South Street, Scotter
had normal sight then one day at work went permanently blind from the effects of 'wartime shrapnel behind the eyes'
wife died in 1943 and he later went to live with their daughter at Blyth, Nottinghamshire
moved back and resided in a home at 181 Lea Road, Gainsborough

died 4th April 1962 aged 68 at St. George's Hospital, Lincoln
buried next to his wife in Scotter Cemetery
parents buried in Scotter Churchyard
