Flood Prevention

Please can I take this opportunity to inform any Resident, thought to be at serious risk of  having their house flooded, that the Parish Council do hold supplies of:

Unfilled sand bags.

Filled sand bags.

Heavy duty polythene sheeting.

If you wish to obtain any supplies, in advance of, or even during a flooding emergency situation, then please contact the Parish Council Office (details shown above).

We also have shovels and a purpose made sand bag filler to help out in emergency situations.

In addition:-

North Kesteven District Council will:

“supply to its local domestic residents, for use in specific emergency situations, both filled and empty sand bags, for self help purposes”.

Requests for sand bags can be made either, during normal working hours by telephoning NKDC’s Environmental Services Department on 01529 414155, or outside office hours by contacting their Emergency Hotline on 01529 308308.

Any occurrence of actual property (house) flooding should, whenever possible, be reported to:

These responsibilities may include:

- maintaining the watercourse bed and banks.

- ensuring the free flow of water without obstruction.

- controlling weed growth etc.

To confirm these arrangements and requirements, please contact the Environment Agency:
