Memorial Field Play Area Re-Development 2017/18

The Council is working towards installing new play equipment in 2017/18 with funding being sought for the project which is expected to cost around £60,000-£70,000. The following funding has been secured this year:

  • £8,000 West Lindsey District Council with support from Community Lincs
  • £6,400 Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champions
  • £2,000 Community fundraising
  • £2,000 Tesco
  • £1,000 One Stop
  • £253 Waitrose

The project is being led by a Play Area Working Group, which includes residents and councillors. Fundraising events will continue throughout the year.

In order to progress the project further funding needs to be secured, with funding applications continuing to be submitted.

Based on community consultation, the new play equipment is set to include a zip wire, climbing frame, swings, slides, springers, and natural/creative play.

For more information or to join the open Working Group contact the Parish Office on 01522 703912 or email info@saxilbyparishcouncil.co.uk

Future Plans: Wheeled Park, MUGA, and West Croft Drive Play Area

Longer term plans also include a wheeled park (skate/scooter/BMX), multi-use games area (MUGA) and gym equipment, with designs being created and funding options being explored.

At the West Croft Drive recreation area we are hoping to install items including a climbing wall, slides and picnic benches. These projects will start after the Memorial Field Play Area project is completed.
