The Green, Scotter

Scotter Parish Council

Welcome to Scotter Parish Council's website.  We hope you find it interesting and of use.

Scotter Parish is made up of the rural villages of Scotter, Scotterthorpe and Susworth and is situated on the north-western boundary of Lincolnshire, between the towns of Gainsborough and Scunthorpe.  It has a population of around 3200.

Information on the parish and on the services provided by the Parish Council can be found via the menu on the left hand side of this page.

DRAFT LOCAL PLAN

The above Local Plan is now published and open to consultation until November the 14th 2014.

Policy LP2 on page 10 shows Scotter now in the Limited Growth Village section of the Settlement Hierarchy not in the Small Town and Growth Villages section as it was. No large development sites will be allocated to settlements in section.

Policy LP39 describes the criteria for growth in Limited Growth Villages. There is considerable weight given to the need for community support for developments and to the need for developments to be sustainable.

Scotter Parish Council invite you to write to Central Lincs in support of Scotter remaining as a Limited Growth Village. This is a DRAFT document. Nothing is set until the ink is dry in 2016 so it is important that you continue to make your views known.

In our submission to Central Lincs we will, as before, be promoting the idea of developing new settlements rather than over filling existing ones.

We also suggest you consider and comment on all aspects of the plan, for example there are policies on infrastructure, green energy, green spaces and for housing development across the whole of Central Lincolnshire . This plan will be the document against which all planning applications will judged for the next twenty years so it needs to be right.

All the means of accessing and commenting on the plan are overleaf.
