Upcoming Twinning events

There was a trip to Fresnay sur Sarthe of some 40 adults and young people over the weekend of 2-5th July 2015. Sadly the footballers were not able to bring back the J&A Sports Trophy suffering a 2-1 defeat by the French team. The tennis players from Spilsby saved the day by playing well and taking advantage of excellent indoor facilities of the town.
There was a last minute change of route as the Dover Calais crossing were in doubt and so the party travelled from Portsmouth to Caen and enjoyed a shorter journey on the French side.

A visit from Bassum Twinners over the August Bank Holiday was a great success. Included in the party were 14 teenagers who wanted to learn about life in England-most had never visited before.
Everyone tried their hand at croquet,  played at Woodhall Spa Croquet Club followed by a typical British afternoon tea at The Inn. Sunday saw a visit to Spilsby Fire Station-trying out apparatus and full kit, the young people had a good time. In the afternoon, the visitors went to Anderby Creek to play beach games and enjoying a paddle. This was followed by a carvery at Woody's, Woodthorpe near Alford.
