HOURS OF WORK:  Minimum 16 hours per week

RATE OF PAY:          £8.90 per hour


Spilsby Town Council are looking for a General Maintenance Operative who will ensure that places and spaces in the town are managed and maintained to the highest standards.


We want someone who will take pride in the Town and also in their work. Someone who has the practical skills, enthusiasm and dedication to deliver outstanding results.

The person we are looking for will have a desire to improve the Town and see things done properly. We expect a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty. You will need a friendly, courteous and helpful manner, an ability to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated. We would expect an ability to deal with tasks in an organised way – and as swiftly and effectively as possible.

Our Maintenance Operative willbuild and maintain productive working relationships with members of the public, Councillors and other colleagues including relevant contractors as well as owners of other spaces in the town e.g. churches and relevant societies.

A flexible approach to working evenings and weekends is required, although this will always be with as much notice as possible.

A full driving licence is essential to include the qualification to tow a trailer.

A good standard of Education is desirable.
