George Clarke Scholarship

The George Clarke Scholarship is a charity providing a scholarship to students under 25 who attend courses of higher education and whose home address is in the parishes of Long Sutton or Sutton Bridge. Please see attached poster for further information.

Councillor John Philip Scarlett

The Parish Council was very sad to learn of the death of Councillor Phil Scarlett, who died on Tuesday 19th September 2017. Although Phil had been battling against cancer over recent months, he continued his active involvement with the Parish Council throughout this time. Phil had been a member of the Parish Council since 2014, and his energy and pragmatic approach will be sorely missed by his colleagues and by the Parish as whole. All at the Parish Council send their condolences to Phil’s wife Anne and family.

Due to operational changes at South Holland District Council, the Parish Office will no longer be able to supply the purple garden waste bags.

Sutton Bridge Front Garden Competition - 2017

Entry for this competition has now closed.

Judging will take place in July with the winners announced in August and they will be invited to a presentation at Silverwood Craft & Garden Centre.

Councillor David Dewsberry

The Parish Council was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Councillor David Dewsberry, who died on Sunday 7th May, 2017 after a sudden illness. As the longest serving member of the Parish Council, David’s experience was always much valued and he remained active and enthusiastic on all Council matters to the end. He will be very much missed by all his friends and colleagues.

The Youth Club meets in the Jubilee Room at the Curlew Centre on Thursday weekly.

Towns of South Holland App

'Towns of South Holland App' has been by produced by South Holland District Council to promote retail sectors in the district and give residents and visitors a quick and easy way to get the goods, services and information they require.

The free app can be downloaded from the Google Play store or the Apple App store.

Spalding, Holbeach, Crowland, Long Sutton, Sutton Bridge and Donington towns are featured, each with their own dedicated section within the app.

Each section covers what's on, what to do, where to eat, where to shop, where to stay, services and an A-Z search. There is also a general section which lists local news and weather and will give businesses the opportunity to promote their special offers.
