Welcome to Tallington Parish Council
This site aims to provide residents of Tallington and others interested with information about the Parish Council’s activities and events in the village.
Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Tuesday 8 December 2009 at 7:30pm in the Village Hall. All residents of the village are welcome to attend and raise matters of local concern during the public forum.
Affordable Housing
Larkfleet Homes have applied to SKDC for planning permission to build 30 affordable houses on the land between Searson Close and the railway. Information about the application may be viewed via the Affordable Housing page.
Vacancies for Parish Councillors
One of the four Parish Council vacancies was filled in October, without a poll, by Mr Geoff Sutcliffe (following the process published in the Returning Officer’s notice in September). No further nominations were received in response to the Returning Officers’ notice of 30 October 2009.
Arrangements for filling the remaining three vacancies have been published on the notice boards in the village and on the vacant seats page of this website. Nominations should be submitted to SKDC by noon on 8 January 2010.
Annual Parish Meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting was held on 19 May 2009, and received the usual reports from the Parish Council, the Village Hall Association, Herons Trust, Neighbourhood Watch and County and District Councillors (the reports may be viewed via the Parish Meeting Page)
The meeting adopted the parish plan (see parish plan page) and asked the Parish Council to take all necessary actions to implement the plan (subject to the necessary funds being provided within the Council’s budget) and to report on progress to the Annual Parish Meeting.
The meeting also heard about the current prospects for bypassing the railway crossing. The draft minutes of the meeting may be found on the Parish Meeting page.
About the village
For readers of this website from further afield, Tallington is a small village of about 190 houses at the southern edge of Lincolnshire. It sits astride the A16 between Stamford and Market Deeping and alongside the East Coast Main Line, so many drivers have the opportunity to enjoy the village while they wait at the Tallington level crossing!
