Vacant Council Seats
Four vacancies arose in July following the resignations of John Allan, Gordon Couzens, Wally Knox and Rob Sorrell, and new Councillors need to be elected or appointed for the remainder of the term of the present Council (ie until May 2011).
One nomination was received by SKDC following the publication of the returning officer’s notice in September, and Geoff Sutcliffe was duly elected without a poll on 21st October 2009.
No further nominations were received in response to the Returning Officers’ notice of 30 October 2009.
The Returning Officer has now issued a further notice again inviting nominations to fill the remaining three seats. As detailed in the notice of 10 December (see link below), nominations should be submitted to SKDC by noon on Friday 8 January 2010.
