MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL MEETING OF
TETNEY PARISH COUNCIL
Held on 10

May 2018 at Tetney Village hall.

CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME AND APOLOGIES
? The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and explained that it was a no smoking
building and where the fire exits and extinguishers were located. Apologies were received in
advance from Cllr Winslow and Cllr McNally due to other commitments. Proposed to accept
the apologies by Cllr Lukehurst, seconded by Cllr Maynard, all in favour to accept, resolved
to accept apologies.
ELECTION OF CHAIR
? Cllr McMillan and Cllr Maynard were both nominated for the position. An anonymous vote
was taken with Cllr McMillan receiving a majority of 6:2 in his favour. Cllr McMillan was
proposed as Chair by Cllr Lukehurst, seconded by Cllr Holden.Cllr McMillan accepted the
position.
ELECTION OF VICE CHAIR
? Cllr Maynard was nominated and proposed as Vice Chair by Cllr McMillan, seconded by
Cllr Holden. There were no other nominations. All in favour, Cllr Maynard accepted the
position.
DECLARATIONS OF ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE
? Cllr McMillan signed the declaration of Office for Chair.

? Minutes had been previously circulated. Cllr Maynard proposed and Cllr Lukehurst seconded
accepting the minutes as a true and accurate recording of the meeting. Vote taken, all in
favour, Resolved to accept minutes.
MEMBERS CODE OF CONDUCT
? The Code of Conduct adopted in 2012 was re-issued. Cllr Powell proposed to accept the
Code, seconded by Cllr Holden. Vote taken all in favour, resolved to accept Code of Conduct.

ANNUAL REVIEW OF POLICIES
? All of the Council policies were circulated prior to the meeting and reviewed by Cllrs. Cllr
Hill proposed accepting all of the policies, seconded by Cllr Hotchin. Vote taken, all in
favour. Resolved to accept all policies.
PROGRAMME OF MEETINGS
? Cllr Lukehurst proposed keeping the meeting schedule the same as previous year, second
Thursday of the month, 7.30pm in Village Hall, with the amendment of no meetings held in
August and December, seconded by Cllr Fletcher, all in favour, resolved to keep meeting
schedule the same.
OPEN FORUM
? Cllr Hill reported that after a long battle the street lighting in Staves Court will be reinstated
to throughout the night lighting due to being exempt from the part night lighting scheme
because it is sheltered accommodation. Cllr McNally had confirmed this with the clerk prior
to the meeting.
Meeting closed at 7.50p
