Waddington in Bloom Awards

We're very proud to announce that Waddington Village has done it again and been awarded a Britain in Bloom Silver Award in the Small Town category. Well done us!

Britain in Bloom Silver Award

In July 2016 the East Midlands Britain in Bloom Judges came to Waddington and were impressed with the enthusiastic volunteers they met whilst walking around the village. In their report they said it was evident that the local community were keen to make Waddington a place to be proud of and be part of the ‘bloom’ spirit. We were commended for another good entry.

The Judges were also impressed with the good support from local businesses. The Parish Council would like to add their appreciation too.

The Judges commended the Residents Association and in particular the ladies group for their significant contribution in supporting Waddington in Bloom 2016 entry.

Judges awarded Waddington a Silver Award in the 2016 Small Town category. Well done us!

They were also impressed at the way Public Art has been used to good effect in the village, in particular the Anzac Memorial on Bar Lane. Special mention was also given to the ceramic sculpture feature inserts in the wall adjacent to Zoo Ceramics Workshop which has won them the East Midlands Britain in Bloom 2016 Judges Award. Congratulations!
