This listing is compiled for the monthly parish magazine, Towers and Spires.  It is updated at the beginning of every month, but if there is anything to add please contact or submit the details yourself by going to the Events Calendar link near the bottom of the  lefthand menu.

To celebrate Harvest Festival there will be 3 events over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 15th/16th September.

The Church Coffee Morning in the Village Hall at 10:30am on Saturday 15th September with children’s activities.

An All Age Celebration of Harvest in St Andrew’s Church, on Sunday 16th September at 10.30am. The Service will include your favourite Harvest hymns played by Andy McCormack and Jules Morgan, and a talk by Rev Steve Simcox. You are invited to bring food donations for Deepings Foodbank: the collection will also be donated to Deepings Foodbank. If you can’t make the service then bring you donations to the Coffee Morning or drop them off at the church which is open every day.

After the service there will be a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch at The Granary courtesy of Glenn and Graham. You are welcome to come along from 12 noon and contribute to a finger buffet style lunch. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided. There will be a harvest raffle, light entertainment and a treasure hunt for the whole family.

West Deeping Parish Council. The meeting originally scheduled for Monday 17th September has been moved to Monday 24th September. 7.30 pm in the Village Hall

Bible Studies. After a summer break these start again on Tuesdays, September 11th and 25th. 3pm at Cromwell House. Details from Susanna on 01778 380014.

West Deeping Heritage Group. Tuesday 25th September 10 am to 4 pm. Rectory Farm Archaeology Day. Thanks to Breedon West Deeping Quarry and PCAS Archaeology Ltd, WDHG invites everyone to an exhibition in the Village Hall about the Rectory Farm archaeological investigations, on Stamford Road, West Deeping.  Look round the display and see examples of the finds before taking a minibus trip to visit the site itself - at 10.30, 12.00, 1.30 and 3.oo. West Deeping Heritage Group's first talk of the autumn season will be given by Simon Savage of PCAS at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall. As usual, refreshments will be served from 7 pm. Litter Pick. Saturday 29th September 2pm. Walkers started this biennial event, but we need lots of support from everyone. Please try and come. Bags and pickers supplied. Meet outside No 43 King Street. Any queries ask Annie: details as above.

Rambling Readers. Friday 28th September. 7.45pm. WDVH. If you are interested in reading a new book each month supplied by Lincolnshire Libraries, please talk to Elizabeth at 01778 344674.

Carpet Bowls Club. The group meets on Thursday evenings in the Village Hall. See centre pages. Chairperson: June Thomas 01778 343434.

West Deeping Village Hall. Would you like to join the management committee to help run and maintain this village facility? We are a registered Charity holding just 4 meetings a year and the next is Tuesday October 9th in the Hall at 7.30pm. You can contribute as much or as little as suits you. Also in West Deeping Village Hall: Friday 14 September 7pm. The Annual General Meeting of the Langdyke Countryside Trust – a local conservation group. Come and hear more about work in our local villages. The programme includes a talk by Susannah Riodan, Rockingham Forest Project Officer about the re-introduction of the chequered skipper butterfly.
