West Deeping Heritage Group. Wednesday 4th October. 7 for 7.30 pm WDVH. Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest. Local historian Joyce Stevenson takes us on an 800-year-journey in time, linking Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest with the 21st century. Present day St Albans, Bury St Edmunds, Runnymede and Lincoln, along with our forests and woodlands, tell a story of the two hugely important historical documents. £2.50.

Litter Pick Saturday 7th October 2pm starting from Annie and Sid’s House, 43 King Street, followed by tea and cakes at Colin and Linda’s at Suilven, Church Lane. Please let Annie know if you are available so she can ensure there are plenty of high viz. jackets etc. Contact details as in Walkers below.

Coffee Morning. Saturday 14th October. 10.30am-12noon WD Village Hall. Children’s activities, raffle, cakes/produce stall. Everyone welcome – we had some cyclists at our last coffee morning. In addition Jean (01778 346779) suggests we have a Mini Apple Day – if people can bring along a couple for us to display we can celebrate the different cultivars grown in our village. It helps if you know the name – sadly we don’t have anyone with the skills to identify apples.

Carpet Bowls Club. The group meets on Thursday evenings in the Village Hall. See centre pages. Chairperson: June Thomas 01778 343434.

Rambling Readers. Friday 27th October. 7.45pm. West Deeping Village Hall. If you’d like read a new book each month talk to Elizabeth at 01778 344674.

Parish Council. Meetings now start at 8.00pm in WDVH, not 7.30pm as before.
