St Andrew’s Church.

Saturday 15th June at 10:30am. Coffee Morning in aid of the church improvements at Colin & Linda’s house, Suilven, Church Lane. Please come along and enjoy light refreshments including home-made scones, raffle and children’s activities.

Sunday 16th June at 11:00am. All Age Service to celebrate Canon David McCormack’s 50 years in ministry. The service will include music from Andy, Jules and Katie. Light refreshments will be served after the service. David has been a strong supporter of our church and we would be delighted to see you on this special occasion.

Parish Council.  Iain Stowe has stepped down after 15 years as Parish Councillor, 9 of those as Chairman.  At a meeting of the Parish Council on May 13th, a vote of thanks was given for all his hard work. It was agreed to share chairmanship over the next year. Maggie Ashcroft is the current Chairman, followed by Cllrs Colin Blagrove and Sue Latham.  Taking up the vacant place as a councillor is David Ward.  The Parish clerk, Ian Coles, 07979 906284, wdparishclerk@gmail.com, is the contact for all Parish Council business. 

Save the date: To celebrate the Centenary of West Deeping Parish Council, which first met in  July 1919,  a family-friendly village event is being planned for the afternoon of Sunday 28th July

West Deeping Heritage Group The AGM was held on Wednesday 29th May. at WDVH, followed by a talk from Jackie Searl on her experiences as a mature student for an Open University History degree. Topics for the autumn will include The History of bulb-growing in East Anglia  by Johnny Walker and the History of English Clocks by Iain Stowe.

WD Walkers. Sundays. Meet at the Village Hall at 2.00pm. 2nd and 16th are local walks.  30th June will be led by Annie. All are welcome. For more details Contact: Annie: 01778 346805, annie.new@me.com 

Rambling Readers (Book Club) meet on the last Friday of the month in WDVH. A new book each month is supplied by Lincolnshire Libraries. We are also sharing copies of the 2018 Man Booker Prize short list. The name Rambling Readers comes from the fact that the book club was originally an offset fr0m WD Walkers.
