Background:

There are various organisations within the village that are able to sponsor events, but the Golden Jubilee Fund is unique in that it was generated from money raised by villagers to pay for the 2002 Golden Jubilee celebrations. The fund has continued with the purpose of bringing pleasure to the residents of West Deeping.

Following on from the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the fund has provided spring bulbs, a bench and flowers for the wild flower area in the Tinsley Playing Field.

The fund has also provided a village summer event on alternate years (when Open Gardens has not been held) and for occasions such as the Royal Wedding Celebrations and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Funds available:

We currently have in excess of £500 which is available to any village resident who wishes to organise an event to which all residents from West Deeping must be welcome.  Whether the event requires initial funding or as a guarantee to cover costs should sufficient funds not be raised at the event held.  Alternatively the money is available for projects in the village which would benefit all residents.

So, if you are resident of West Deeping and have an idea for an event or project that would benefit the village/villagers which requires funding  the Jubilee Committee would love to hear from you.  Initially please contact, Melanie James at melanie@thelane.me.uk or 01778 380197.
