Welcome to Wickenby Parish Council

Wickenby is a hamlet and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) south-west from the town of Market Rasen.

Wickenby existed at the time of Domesday Book of 1086 when it consisted of fifteen households.[1]

The parish church is a limestone Grade II* listed building dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Lawrence and dating from the 12th century, although it was restored in 1868 by George Gilbert Scott. In the east wall of the south aisle is set a brass to Henry Millner, who died in 1635.[2]

Wickenby railway station on the Sheffield and Lincolnshire Extension Railway, opened in 1848 and closed in 1965.[3]

Members of Wickenby Parish Council today help to support a young member of our parish with her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award by planting donated trees within the local area.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration was a huge success despite the light rainfall. A good attendance from the parish and thank you for the very kind use of a large marquee set up in the rear garden of a house on Lissington Road. Plenty of food and drink was provided and consumed accompanied by recorded songs of the 1950's. Celebration mugs were distributed and available to every child within the parish. These could also be purchased by at cost price

Flower tubs have been purchased and now stand either side of the new bench at the bus shelter. The flowers and          maintenance will be kindly provided by a resident volunteer. Further improvements to this area is envisaged and currently in the planning stage

- Meetings will now be held on the 1st Tuesday of May, September, December and March.
