New life on the pond

Cherry Willingham Parish Council

Have you got any good ideas for a summer event in Cherry next year? For the last few years the Parish Council has been running a Village Gala at the Community School.  However, it's time for a revamp and we have just had some exciting discussions about this with the Head of the new Pembroke Academy (formerly Cherry Willingham Community School).  We have set up another meeting for October 17th, so we can explore various ideas further with both the school and local residents.   If you have an idea for a village summer event that would capture people's imaginations we would like to hear it.  It could be something you have seen work elsewhere or your own unique idea!  Please pass your suggestions onto the Parish Council via the clerk or any Parish Councillor.  If you would like to be involved in helping plan and deliver an event, please let the clerk have your details and we will get in touch with you.

Opportunity to be a Volunteer Dog Warden

West Lindsey District Council has made a Public Space Protection Order to tackle dog fouling which came in to force on 5th June 2017. This replaces old legislation and means that WLDC can again enforce against dog fouling by using fixed penalty notices or prosecution.

WLDC is keen to ensure that it can enforce this Public Space Protection Order, and has agreed to facilitate training for designated Parish wardens to allow for the delegation of powers to issue fixed penalties on behalf of WLDC, to take place in early autumn.

If you would like to become a volunteer dog warden, please give your name and contact information to the Parish Clerk at the parish office (details below) no later than Wednesday 9 th August. These details will be passed onto WLDC for inclusion onto their training.
