Donna Nook Coastal Realignment Project

This section has been set up with the aim of providing regular information updates on the progress of the project.

Donna Nook Car Park/Marsh Lane Roadworks/Removal of Pye’s Hall Bridge, changes to Public Footpath NS18

Please note that work has started now to breach the Sluice at Pye's Hall, which will make it impossible to walk all the way around the Realignment Site. Work will also be done to resurface the car park at Donna Nook which may involve no parking being available at times - at the moment approx 50% of the car park is available. This is the timetable for works:

Mobilise and enabling works 29/05/2019 - 04/06/2019
Breach 05/06/2019 - 01/08/2019
Car park works 05/06/2019 - 05/08/2019
Road widening works 03/07/2019 - 26/09/2019
Demobilise 27/09/2019 - 30/09/2019

As part of these works signs will be erected at the Stonebridge and Grainthorpe ends of the affected public footpath NS19, which will advise people that the footpath has been diverted onto the new sea bank. The signs will also advise that the footpath that remains on the old front alignment will no longer be a continuous through route at Pye’s Hall.

The Marsh Lane road widening scheme is being finalised between the EA and Highways and the contractor will get in touch with the residents along the affected length prior to road works starting.
