24/08/2018 Church Fields, Developer Update:

As people will have seen, work continues on the Church Lane site. The first phase of development is the 60 retirement units, and these are being constructed for Acis Group. Purely for the over 55s, 40 of these will be affordable housing units prioritised for local people, with 20 being open market sale. Please contact Acis Group for further details on these. We are also building the first phase of market housing, with the first plots now released via our website

Offsite Works

The public footpaths which cross the site, and part of the route to the south, remain closed until the end of year. This is to ensure the safety of local residents whilst works are ongoing, and also to allow us to undertake upgrades to these paths. The improvement work includes re-surfacing non-adopted paths as well as the provision of two new, adopted paths. The first adopted path provides a new link from the site to Westcroft Drive, and the second upgrades the existing link to the south of the site to Northfield Rise. These works are currently scheduled to be complete by the end of October, and we will endeavour to open the network as soon as we possibly can.

Residents may have also noticed some works being undertaken in the Westcroft Drive open space area. We have an agreement with the Parish Council to install foul and surface water drainage pipes underground in this area and have begun some initial tree removal and hedge clearance. The hedge clearance is part of the approved plan to link the open space area on the site to the existing Westcroft Drive space. The drain installation works will begin on 3rd September 2018 and we hope to have these completed by early October. As this is also an area where we will be installing an adopted footpath connecting to Westcroft Drive, the works may continue beyond this date to allow the footpath the be installed at the same time.

We will do our best to maintain access in this area for the duration of the works, however there may be times where the area is inaccessible to ensure health and safety is maintained. As agreed with the Parish, any trees lost will be re-planted and the land will be fully restored once the work is complete.

Site Works

We have received some complaints, via West Lindsey District Council and to us directly, regarding disturbance being caused to local residents from the ongoing construction works. In particular levels of dust and hours of operation have been raised.

Firstly, we apologise for the levels of dust on site. Whilst we are doing all within our gift to minimise this, unfortunately given the weather and this being one of the hottest/driest summers on record this is an industry wide problem. We have been using a dedicated dust suppressing vehicle, which sprays water in affected areas but even this has struggled given the dry conditions. Hopefully the weather is returning to more normal conditions, making dust suppressing easier but we will continue to monitor this.

All remaining properties we can gain access should have their gas supply reconnected today (Tuesday 8 May).

Contact details will also be left at properties where we are unable to gain access so the residents can contact us upon their return and we can arrange to reconnect their gas supply.
