PARISH COUNCIL VACANCY

There is a vacancy on the council for a Parish Councillor.  Applicants must be on the electoral role or worked in the village for the past year.  This is a voluntary role.  For further information please contact the Clerk to the Council on 01472 825467 or visit the Council Offices by Friday 16th November 2012.

NOTICE OF ELECTION – ELECTION OF A POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSIONER FOR THE LINCOLNSHIRE POLICE AREA

If an election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 15the November 2012 in the Church Hall, Holton-le-Clay.

COUNCIL TAX SUPPORT SCHEME CONSULTATION – 1st OCTOBER TO 19TH NOVEMBER 2012

The Government plans to abolish the national Council Tax Benefit scheme and requires each Council across the country to replace it with their own local Council Tax Support scheme by 31st January 2013 to take effect from 1st April 2013.  Council Tax Support helps people with low, or no income to pay their Council Tax.  The proposed changes will not affect claimants who are of pension age or are war pensioners.  The ELDC would like your views on the proposal and you can complete the survey online at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/consultation.  Paper copies of the questionnaire will be available at ELDC Customer Service Centres, Libraries, Leisure Centres and GP Surgeries.

ENGLISH NATIONAL CONCESSIONARY TRAVEL SCHEME – BUS PASSES 

The majority of passes are due to expire in March and April 2013 and given the high volume of passes the County Council are urging all Lincolnshire pass holders to renew early and arrangements have been made to allow renewal applications from 1st October 2012.  Forms are available from Libraries, District Council Offices, Parish Council Office and downloadable from the web www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/concessionaryfares.

GRASS VERGES 

Car owners/drivers are requested to not park on the grass verges but to use their driveways whenever possible or on the road.

AMENITY GRASS CUTTING                                                                                                         

Grass cutting and strimming last cut will start the week beginning W/C 29th October 2012 and return in March 2013. 

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL – LAST DAY FOR GREEN WASTE

Following with the same bin cycle the last day is Monday 12th November 2012 or 19th November 2012 depending on your residency address.

The dates of the forthcoming ELDC Facilities Day are Wednesday 14th November 2012 and 12th December 2012. 9.00 am-1.00 pm and 2.00 pm-4.00 pm

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL WARD SURGERY – 3rd WEDS                    

There is a change in the surgery schedule from a 2nd to the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  The dates of your local ELDC Councillors’ surgery at the Parish Offices are

Wednesday 21st November 2012 2.00 pm-4.00 pm                                                                                               

Wednesday 19th December 2012 10.00 am-12.00 noon

BULKY ITEMS OF WASTE

If you need to dispose of bulky items of household waste, i.e. refrigerators, freezers, cookers, beds, etc., please contact East Lindsey District Council on 01507 601111 to arrange collection.  The fee is £15.00 for up to 4 items.

DATE OF NEXT FULL COUNCIL MEETINGS                                                                                 New start time of 7.00 pm.

The next two Full Council Meetings will be on 19th November 2012 and 10th December 2012 (2nd Weds).  All planning applications can be viewed at 6.45 pm. prior to the meetings.  All parishioners are welcome.
