VACANCY ON THE PARISH COUNCIL There is one vacancy on the Parish Council.  Persons eligible to become co-opted are encouraged to put their names forward to the Chairman of Holton-le-Clay Parish Council, Council Offices, Peppercorn Walk, Holton-le-Clay, Lincolnshire DN36 5DQ.

SWITCHOVER HELP SCHEME Parishioners are asked to be aware of the scheme set up by the BBC for any disabled people and everyone aged 75 and over that may need the equipment and support to switch one television to digital.  The scheme runs from now until 21 October 2011.

BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION 2011

The first round judge visited on Friday 10th June 2011.  We await the results.  Please give support to the competition by becoming involved in ensuring the village is litter free, weed free and welcoming for visitors.   If successful for Round 2 of the competition then another Village ‘Tidy Up’ will take place in July, starting with the old tennis courts at 8 Acres Playing Fields.  Please check the Notice Boards and Grimsby Telegraph for further details.

MECHANICAL SWEEP the roadside kerbs were sprayed (weed spraying) on 14th June 2011 and 28 days later on Tuesday 12th July the Mechanical Sweep is due.

CHANGE IN AGE GROUP FOR THE HLC YOUTH CLUB A new starting age of the HLC Youth Club, Year 6 – 10 year olds from September 2011.                                                         

URGENT ADULT VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR YOUTH CLUB

With around 60 young people at the Youth Club each week the committee is URGENTLY looking out for more volunteers.  It is a successful Club but without the sufficient numbers of volunteers to help run it – the Club could be forced to close down.  Please contact the Council Offices or visit the Youth Club on a Friday night - 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Community Centre for further information. Also with more volunteers there may be the possibility to have two separate age group Club Nights for the young people (Year 6)10-13 years and 14 years+.  No firm details have been proposed.

DOGS – NO DOGS ALLOWED IN JUNIOR PLAYING FIELDS

HORSES – NO HORSES ALLOWED AT THE 8 ACRES PLAYING FIELD

DOGS FOULING

We ask all dog holders to be responsible and clean up after their pets. This includes all areas of the village in particular the pavements, walkways and the former railway line.  If anyone witnesses dog fouling they are to report it to the ELDC on 01507 601111 and ask for Dog Warden or text DOG to 07781481328.                                                                                                                  

Reminder– if you do not clean up after your dog, you could incur a £75.00 on the spot fine with a maximum penalty of £1000.00.

NEW LITTER AND DOG BINS The Council will be purchasing 3 dog bins as replacements and have a post mounted litter bin at the two main entrance Bus Stops.  8 Acres Playing Field to have a larger dual litter and dog bin. 

OVERHANGING TREES/HEDGEROW Residents are kindly requested to check their gardens for any overhanging trees/hedgerow onto the public footpaths and to cut back if required. 

GRASS VERGES 

Car owners/drivers are requested to kindly not park on the grass verges but to use their driveways whenever possible or on the road.

AMENITY GRASS CUTTING DATES

W/C 27th June, 4th and 18th July 2011(weather permitting)

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL FACILITIES DAY

The dates of the forthcoming ELDC Facilities Day are Wednesday 13th July 2011.  9.00 am-1.00 pm and 2.00 pm-4.00 pm and Wednesday 10th August 2011.

The dates of your local ELDC Councillors’ surgery at the Parish Offices are

BULKY ITEMS OF WASTE

If you need to dispose of bulky items of household waste, i.e. refrigerators, freezers, cookers, beds, etc., please contact East Lindsey District Council on 01507 601111 to arrange collection.  The fee is £15.00 for up to 4 items.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING FULL COUNCIL MEETINGS

The next two Full Council Meetings will be on Monday 18th July 2011 and Monday 19th September 2011.  There is no meeting scheduled in August.  All planning applications can be viewed at 7.15 pm. prior to the meetings. All parishioners are welcome.
