BEST KEPT VILLAGES AND SMALL TOWNS COMPETITION – 2011 FINAL RESULTS – Class 111 (LARGE VILLAGES AND SMALL TOWNS)

BEST KEPT VILLAGE CO-CORDINATOR 2012 It has been suggested to be able to progress pass the First Round the village would benefit from a voluntary co-ordinator.  If you would like to be that person please contact the Clerk to the Council on 01472 825467.                                                 

DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS To mark 60 years of the Queen’s reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th June.  The Parish Council will shortly be writing to clubs, organisations, shops and businesses to set up a meeting to discuss whether to take part in any joint celebrations for the village.                                                                                          

NEW GRIT BINS  Extra grit bins will be provided at the following locations, prior to the start of the County Winter Maintenance Season:  Campions Close, Evendine Court, Wayside Close and Tetney Lane

REMINDER - LINCOLNSHIRE POLICE – THE NUMBER TO REPORT INCIDENTS IS – 0300 111 0300.    “Lock it, or Lose it”.  Please ensure that your property is safe and secure ad report suspicious activity without delay.

URGENT ADULT VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR YOUTH CLUB

With around 70 young people at the Youth Club each week the committee is URGENTLY looking out for more volunteers.   Please contact the Council Offices or visit the Youth Club on a Friday night - 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Community Centre for further information.

CHANGE IN AGE GROUP FOR THE HLC YOUTH CLUB A new starting age of the HLC Youth Club, 10 year olds in Year 6 from September 2011.        

DOGS – NO DOGS ALLOWED IN JUNIOR PLAYING FIELDS

HORSES – NO HORSES ALLOWED ON THE 8 ACRES PLAYING FIELD

HORSES – NO HORSE RIDING ON THE PUBLIC FOOTPATHS (WALKWAYS) You are reminded that the public footpaths in the village are not ‘bridle ways’ and should not to be used by horse riders

DOGS FOULING – THIS MUST STOP!  There appears to be an increase in dog fouling in the village and we ask for anyone who witnesses dog fouling that they report it to the ELDC on 01507 601111 and ask for Dog Warden or text DOG to 07781481328.  Dog holders are to be responsible and clean up after their pets. This includes all areas of the village in particular 8 Acres Playing Field, the pavements, walkways and the former railway line.  Dog Warden Patrols will start up again to try and catch the offenders.

Reminder– if you do not clean up after your dog, you could incur a £75.00 on the spot fine with a maximum penalty of £1000.00.

OVERHANGING TREES/HEDGEROW/GRASS VERGES Residents are kindly requested to check their gardens for any overhanging trees/hedgerow onto the public footpaths and to cut back if required.  Car owners/drivers are requested to kindly not park on the grass verges but to use their driveways whenever possible or on the road.

AMENITY GRASS CUTTING DATES

W/C 3rd and 17th October and last cut 7th November (weather permitting)

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL FACILITIES DAY

The dates of the forthcoming ELDC Facilities Day are Wednesday 12th October 2011.9.00 am-1.00 pm and 2.00 pm-4.00 pm and Wednesday 9th November 2011.

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL WARD SURGERY

The dates of your local ELDC Councillors’ surgery at the Parish Offices are 

Wednesday 12th October 2011 10.00 am-12.00 noon

Wednesday 9th November 2011 2.00 pm-4.00 pm

BULKY ITEMS OF WASTE

If you need to dispose of bulky items of household waste, i.e. refrigerators, freezers, cookers, beds, etc., please contact East Lindsey District Council on 01507 601111 to arrange collection.  The fee is £15.00 for up to 4 items.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING FULL COUNCIL MEETINGS

The next two Full Council Meetings will be on Monday 17th October 2011 and Monday 21st November 2011.  All planning applications can be viewed at 7.15 pm. prior to the meetings. All parishioners are welcome.
