COUNCIL NEWS OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2011

NEW VILLAGE MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE The Parish Council has employed a village litter picker/handyman for 20 hours a week from Monday 31st October 2011.

VACANCY ON THE PARISH COUNCIL There is one vacancy on the Parish Council.  For further details please contact the Clerk to the Council.

BUS SHELTERS The Parish Council has looked into erecting 3 bus shelters in the village after receiving several requests over many years from parishioners.  One bus shelter is to be put in place through successful part funding from Lincolnshire County Council of 50% of the total installation cost, up to a maximum of £2,000.  It is hoped to secure further funding for the other 2 proposed bus shelters.  Locations not yet agreed.

DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS – PUBLIC MEETING TUESDAY 15TH NOVEMBER 2011 To mark 60 years of the Queen’s reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. The celebrations will centre on an extended weekend in 2012 on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th June.  A public meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th November 2011 at 7.00 pm in the Council Offices.  All Clubs, organisations’, shops and businesses and members of the public are invited to discuss whether to take part in any joint celebrations for the village and to hear what is already being planned.  Also to discuss the Lincolnshire Best Kept Village competition 2012 and bus shelter locations. 

REMINDER - LINCOLNSHIRE POLICE – THE NUMBER TO REPORT INCIDENTS IS – 0300 111 0300.    “Lock it, or Lose it”.  Please ensure that your property is safe and secure ad report suspicious activity without delay.                                                                                      

DOGS FOULING – There appears to be an increase in dog fouling in the village and we ask for anyone who witnesses dog fouling that they report it to the ELDC on 01507 601111 and ask for Dog Warden or text DOG to 07781481328.  Dog holders are to be responsible and clean up after their pets. This includes all areas of the village in particular 8 Acres Playing Field, the pavements, walkways and the former railway line.  Dog Warden Patrols are now in place to try and catch the offenders.

Reminder– if you do not clean up after your dog, you could incur a £75.00 on the spot fine with a maximum penalty of £1000.00.

HORSES – NO HORSES ALLOWED ON THE 8 ACRES PLAYING FIELD

HORSES – NO HORSE RIDING ON THE PUBLIC FOOTPATHS (WALKWAYS) The public footpaths in the village are not ‘bridle ways’ and should not to be used by horse riders

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL FACILITIES DAY

The dates of the forthcoming ELDC Facilities Day are Wednesday 9th November 2011 and Wednesday 14th December 2011.  9.00 am-1.00 pm and 2.00 pm-4.00 pm

The dates of your local ELDC Councillors’ surgery at the Parish Offices are 

Wednesday 9th November 2011 2.00 pm-4.00 pm

Wednesday 14th December 2011 10.00 am-12.00 noon

BULKY ITEMS OF WASTE

If you need to dispose of bulky items of household waste, i.e. refrigerators, freezers, cookers, beds, etc., please contact East Lindsey District Council on 01507 601111 to arrange collection.  The fee is £15.00 for up to 4 items.

WHEELIE BIN COLLECTION                                                                                                               The last collection for green waste will be either 14th or 21st November.  Please read your Waste Collection card calendar carefully as there are different collections over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.  Recycling on either 23rd or 28th December and Domestic Waste bin on 3rd or 4th January 2012. 

DATE OF NEXT MEETING FULL COUNCIL MEETINGS

The next two Full Council Meetings will be on Monday 21st November 2011 and Monday 12th December (2nd Mon).  All planning applications can be viewed at 7.15 pm. prior to the meetings. All parishioners are welcome.
